This report describes examples of initiatives to prevent trafficking in human beings for the purpose of what in Europe is known as ‘labour exploitation’. It focuses on efforts to discourage the exploitation that leads to trafficking in human beings. The report sets out to identify methods that, on the basis of the information currently available, represent good practice. It presents, in turn, examples of initiatives by governments, businesses and civil society organisations. It reviews their strengths and weaknesses in terms of their effectiveness at preventing human trafficking in business practices and supply chains.
