Hivos commissioned an assessment in April 2020 to establish the impact of Covid-19 on women workers in the horticulture sector. This was assessed with special focus on their current employment status, living conditions, shifts in their household expenses and their outlook for the future. The understanding of Covid-19 by women workers was also a subject of interest for this assessment. Finally, the assessment also put out recommendations to both government and CSOs with regard to strengthening response mechanisms as well as ensuring inclusivity.
