This publication is a legal analysis. The first part focuses on the development and creation of the Palermo Protocols and on their contents. The second part is dedicated to the analysis of how the Protocols create a bridge between the two legal systems: Human Rights and Criminal Law. The legal aspect is the focus for this paper, but concrete experiences and examples are included to create a visible link between law and reality – or rather to show that the two do not exist independently of each other.
